Families impacted by natural disaster can register for free childcare assistance supported by Foursquare Disaster Relief. Drop-ins are welcome as space allows. Care is available M-F 7:30 am to 5:30 pm and other hours by request. Families can register quickly online. Processing is done is sometimes the same day. Placement is available on a first come first serve basis as space allows. REGISTRATION LINK.
Children up to 7 years old from families impacted by natural disaster can receive up to three prepared free meals per day Monday- Friday. Breakfast is served at 8 am. Lunch is served at 11:30 am. Dinner is at 5:30 pm. We are working to start weekend meals on Saturday and Sundays. Our first Sunday evening meal is offered on June 30th at 5pm.
Any family impacted from a natural disaster can visit Pulse of Life Church for access to visa card vouchers for child needs, infant products, crib sheets, blankets, new infant clothing, and vouchers toward a car seat or pack n play. The baby room is open every day from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm starting June 30th. Inventory will increase in July. Call 605-659-4744 if you are looking for something specific.
The Baby Closet at Faith Fellowship of the Open Bible church is stocked with free kids clothing. For those families affected by the recent flooding, they can help with clothing, wipes, and diapers. They will be open on Wednesday, June 26th from 9am to noon and the 2nd Saturday of the month. Leave a message at (605) 624-2921 and we will call back to answer questions.
The Vermillion Community Care Center located at 9 Court Street is a one-stop-shop resource center that addresses the needs of the community members by coordinating the efforts of local organizations. The Salvation Army, United Way, Tanager Takeout, ROCS, The Evan Project Diaper Bank, and Food Pantry is all located under one roof. The Welcome Table offers a free prepared meal every Monday evening starting at 5:15 pm - 6:45 pm. The Vermillion Goodwill and Civic Council offer used clothing and household items.
